Romanticize the heavens out of your life.

My alarm chimes a sweet rhythm as I drift out of my slumber. The sky is navy blue and my eyes heavy like my thick blanket. The dark and cold nights light a fire in me, an ember flame of passion ignites within me and begins to envelope the space that surrounds me. I’m in my room that I’ve designed with for my own joy, but it’s also my world. A little world I’ve created which allows me to romanticize the heavens out of my life. 🌹

I briskly make my way out of my room and now I’m expanded into a much bigger world, I have launched myself into this mass space called civilization. I look all around me and there are people walking around in black coats, looking down at their phones, scrolling endlessly until the bus arrives. They seem zombified and lifeless, but I see the embers of that lost lost spark seeking for more ground to reignite to a collossal flame.

Yes it’s freezing and they would all rather be in bed and back to slumberland, but they have to survive. So they continue sleepwalking around this mass space as vaporous performers. The masses have designed it this way to keep us in this floating state, and only those that have revealled their inner creator are playing the game by crafting software like God crafted the Tree of Knowledge, where desire for knowledge and information has become the biggest temptation. It has become so addictive it has sucked them in, tempting them to stay, diverting their attention away from their potent flame and power as true creators.

These embers are still burning though, it’s invoking upon the inner creator, a mysterious revellation yet to unfold.

"Once you stop learning, you start dying." — Einstein

Have you ever thought to yourself, wow is this all there is to life? If one feels stuck in this place of boredom and lack of excitement, how have you cultivated your space to your advantage, how are you shaping it so it shapes you into your authentic self? Do you make your life feel so beautiful it’s art? The temptation of the Tree of Knowledge is so strong it requires a revolutionary act, an artistic resistance. It all starts with who you are away from your phone, behind closed doors.

Life is like a program of engrained and newly formed habits habits, the actions we take feedback to us. The counterintuitive part is that in order to create new habits, we need to let go of the engrained ones from time to time. The key is to allowing space to shape new behaviour and thus create new outcomes for yourself. The key to romanticizing your life is in the very conscious and intentional act to make it beautiful, to make it colourful, to make it yours. Be so in love with life that you feel more alive than ever before.

Don’t be so quick to shut down ideas that come from sudden inspiration, work with it, build on it, create a system for it. A spark is a catalyst for a bigger flame. Don’t let it fade. There will be many sparks in your journey but always trust it, write it down, explore it when the time comes, link it to another spark, then connect the dots.

Want to make your life art? Go and stop for a moment, close your eyes and think about what has inspired you lately. If nothing has, I implore you to discover the beauty around you lately. I’ll give you an example of some of the things that inspired me this week.

  • the way my burgundy red notebook pairs so well with my dark wood piano

  • the way a beat of a track in a film gets your adrenaline pumping

  • the way the sun paints golden rays on my canvas white walls

  • the feeling of my soft supple skin after a long soak in the bath

  • my book transporting me to a 1920s beach in South of France

Pure and utter joy.
